Awesome Raw Recipes To Kick Your Meals Up A Notch

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

If I had to summarize 35% of my email, that would pretty much cover it.

You, my loyal readers, are insatiable raw recipe devourers.

You got Savory Raw Recipes And Sauces, said yum, and then proceeded to demand more.

Soups! Salads! Slaws! Smoothies!

I have to admit that I haven’t exactly been feeding your addiction to new tasty raw food combos with as much diligence as I should have.

Today I don’t have any of my own creations to present you with, but I do have the next best thing: tasty recipes from a long-term raw foodist who shares my discriminating tastes when it comes to demanding not only awesome flavor, but avoidance of the many raw foods which aren’t particularly healthy.

There are dozens of raw food recipe books and websites out there, but I wouldn’t recommend most of them to you because they feature foods that are poorly combined or have ingredients that are less than ideal.

So where can I find recipes to suggest that don’t contain salt, pepper, honey, agave, garlic, cacao (the fruit is fine, but not the seed), chocolate, grains, onions, nutritional yeast, oil, nama shoyu/tamari, seaweed and/or other “sea vegetables”, vinegar, sauerkraut, or any other fermented food?

Surely I’m picky enough that no one else could share my standards, right?

Turns out the answer is no.

Chris Kendall¬†of The Raw Advantage is giving away his book, “101 Frickin Rawsome Recipes,” for the cost of a donation, and it’s filled with exactly the type of recipes I like to make.

So let’s say you’ve got a hankering for a stew that’s savory rather than sweet. You might try out the “Simple Italian,” or “Chunky Cauliflower”.

Want something refreshing to drink on a hot summer afternoon? The “Blue Lagoon” might be up your alley.

So if you’re looking for a few recipes to try, consider downloading Chris’s ebook (you can also order a printed version).

If you enjoy his book, please send a donation his way to support his work.

Happy Eating.

Andrew’s “Normal” Watermelon-Mango Salad

UPDATE: If you cannot watch the video below, this one should work.

Some people don’t like the look of a healthy raw food diet.

After a grumpy old man told me eating so much fruit wasn’t normal awhile back, I set off to document a new kind of eating: “the healthy eater’s normal”.

It involves a lot more colorful variety, sweetness, and volume than most people are used to, and it bring about a new level of health and vitality.

In the video below I show off a simple salad recipe with only three ingredients which is both delicious, filling, and very different than the average person’s meal.

Check it out.
