The Olive Oil Conspiracy: Why Raw Food Diets Don’t Work With Oil

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Oh, the glory of Mediterranean diets! Drown everything in Olive Oil and it becomes ten times better, we are assured.

Although you’ll hear plenty of people endorse high-oil Mediterranean-style diets as great ways to lose weight and avoid heart attacks, cancer, and other diseases, there’s really very little data supporting the health claims.

The fact is that today, people who follow these high-oil diets in the lands washed by the Mediterranean sea are getting fatter and sicker all the time. If they were once healthy, it is despite their olive oil consumption, not because of it.

UPDATE: If you cannot watch the video below, this one should work.

In the video below I show off a simple salad recipe with only three ingredients which is both delicious, filling, and very different than the average person’s meal.

Check it out.

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

I often rely on science to justify my positions on food at Raw-Food-Health.net, but at the end of the day, we really don’t need science.

Here’s the scoop: the bodies of healthy people react violently to unhealthy foods. What does that mean? It means the body is trying really hard to expel what you put in it, and does so with a number of techniques that we recognize as the symptoms of sickness.

But getting to that point isn’t an overnight jaunt. In this article I tell you how to adopt a raw food elimination diet so you can figure out what foods are healthy and harmful for yourself.
