My Blood Test Results Vs The B12 Boogie Man

The threat of B12 deficiency remains one of the great stumbling blocks for raw vegan, cooked vegan, and even SAD dieters, and for good reason. A deficiency can cause permanent damage to the brain and body, but the science behind how we reach that state is so vague as to be almost useless.

After three and a half years of only eating raw fruits and vegetables, I should be deficient by the reckoning of many researchers.

After being badgered for years about the threat to my health, I finally gave in and got a blood test.

How did I do? You can read about my results here.

  1. I recently read on CNN health about a similar condition which could arise as one of the side affects of obesity. What are your thoughts? In fact, ever think about writing an article about obesity in america? I’d love to read it!

    • Yes, there are all kinds of negative side effects to poor health.

I probably won’t be writing such an article because I try to concentrate on solutions rather than the problems, but you never know.

  2. Josh Neumann says:

Andrew, what’s wrong with spirulina? That’s what I’m using right now… isn’t that acceptable on this diet?
