The Raw Food Choice: Nuts Or Fruit?

Are you going to eat fatty foods or fruit?

Given that vegetables alone cannot supply our caloric needs, we need to choose one or the other if we’re not going to starve eating a raw diet.

So what happens when you choose fat?

Lauren Knowles gives us a great example. She writes:

“I am a raw foodist but eat seeds and some nuts. What should I eat for protein? AS I am hungry if I just eat greens. I do have candida very badly and I am always watching sugar intake. I do not eat fruit at all.

Please advise.”

Those that try to avoid fruit and just eat fat for their calories tend to run into blood sugar issues, particularly candida.

    I think what Andrew is saying about fat trapping the sugar in the blood stream is so true. I recently heard that high fat diets can contribute to diabetes just as much as high sugar diets and it makes perfect sense. If the fat blocks the absorption of the sugar, it has nowhere to go and stays in the bloodstream. So many people believe that as a diabetic, they should eat low sugar and high fat meats, dairy, etc. It’s ironic that they are just making things worse.
